Healing Your Inner Child

Healing your inner child is important if you want to live life to its fullest. The inner child has been called other things such as the “Divine Child” by Carl Jung which tells you how spiritually connected this life element is within you. The inner child is the part of us that has not been jaded by disappointment or bad decisions and also represents the part of you that can lead you to new heights through love and creativity.

Whispering Longing

Your inner child is the innocence that you once had before people and events caused emotional self-doubt and wounded self-esteem. This element of your emotional and spiritual self contains the key to creativity, wonderment and energy. Those who allow the child in them to have expression throughout their lives achieve an inner peace and emotional wellbeing that others notice.

Unfortunately, the inner child can be suppressed and discouraged by the people in our life and by our own reactions. When a child is not nurtured and or given free expression or abused, the inner child also suffers. As you grow into adulthood, the inner child becomes silent and cold and full of fear. When you sense a whispered longing that emanates from within, it’s the inner child seeking expression in your life. A wounded inner child can lead to a number of problems in an adult life. These problems include an inability to maintain a normal relationship as well as constant anxiety and depression. Many people who become co-dependent or turn to medication for help have done so in an attempt to compensate for the wounded inner child.

Empowering the Inner Child

When you are dysfunctional in one or more areas of your life, the first place you should look is inward. Healing your inner child through spiritual empowerment can lead to emotional wellbeing.

Your inner child is the sum of your emotional past resulting from dealing with a variety of events. When those incidences and emotions were negative influences and remain unresolved, it takes special insight to begin the healing process.

Unleashing Your Happiness

Everyone has the power within themselves to be happy. This happiness lies within the inner child. When the inner child is at peace, you are able to release the unexpressed happiness. Your relationships will improve, and you will finally be able to stop destructive behaviours holding you back from fulfillment.

One of the most important relationships in your life is the one you have with yourself. This means you must deal with the emotional and spiritual traumas which have wounded your inner child in the past. Once you have been through healing your inner child, the result is greater happiness and more spiritual and emotional well being.

Healing your inner child is a process everyone should go through if they want to live life to its very fullest. You will learn to worry less, give up control over people and events, stop being a victim and finally discover that life can be fulfilling.

Depression and Spirituality

There is a connection between depression and spirituality. The connection may not be obvious to many people though, because the depression slowly consumes a life bit by bit without any explanation. People turn to medication and therapy to overcome the depression when they really need to begin exploring the unresolved issues impacting their emotional well-being and spiritual growth.

Healing a Broken Spirit

Within you lies the personal strength needed to overcome depression if you are able to identify the emotional barriers. That sounds difficult to accomplish and many people need assistance, because they are unable to look at their past in an objective manner. When you have developed a certain way of thinking over time, your perceptions have been formed and begin to drive your attitude and behaviours.

When you have emotional hurts in your past that have not been reconciled or resolved, it’s easy to begin developing a habit of negative thinking. This kind of thinking is really just an attempt to cover up the real issues, when in fact it’s like putting a band-aid on a broken arm.

If you don’t set a broken arm properly, the bones will heal crooked. The same is true of your emotional health. If you don’t heal your inner wounds, your emotional health continually suffers. This emotional illness is expressed through sadness, unhappiness, anxiety and eventually depression.

An Unhealthy Mind

Healing inner wounds can lead to inner peace. That is the simplest explanation of the relationship between depression and spirituality. But identifying the specific unresolved issues can be difficult without help. People become so used to thinking in a certain way and that begins the anxiety spiral. When you are full of self doubts and have low self-esteem, it’s difficult to view current relationships and events in a positive manner. You have an unhealthy mind that needs much more than an emotional band-aid.

The circumstances just described are part of the human experience. The relationship between depression and spirituality is such that until you resolve the core spiritual issues, the soul and mind will never rest. The healing process begins when the emotional imprints of your core issues are released. You begin to have a clearer understanding of how your hidden past has held you in non serving beliefs.

Life Affirming

When you are experiencing depression and spirituality has been suppressed, the only way to overcome the emotional trauma is through life affirming healing. The healing begins with you in discovering the unprocessed past that offers you a psychological understanding and emotional release. You identify the inner wounds, their sources and then begin a reconciliation process.

Until you find inner peace, anxiety and depression may very well be a part of your life. You can take control of your own life and reverse this cycle by confronting the negative thinking and damaging self-esteem and accelerate your spiritual growth and emotional prosperity.

What is Inner Peace?

What is inner peace? Inner peace is a human state whereby thoughts, emotions and spirituality are in harmony. It is a state of reconciliation that exists within you and which creates the ability to handle personal reality in a positive manner. Achieving this state of being is important if you want to be able to avoid the self-defeating turmoil which can take control of your life.

Peaceful Souls

We have all met people who never seem to lose control of their lives. They are able to handle anything that comes their way with grace and style. Even more importantly, situations which would throw others into a state of stress turn into life lessons that are mastered.

It’s difficult not to envy those who have obviously achieved spiritual awareness. This spiritual awareness is a level of enlightenment that transcends one above the turmoil others experience. With inner peace a person is able to make clearer choices because no negative thoughts or emotions from the past exert control.

This is not to say that past experiences have no part in the decision making process. So what is inner peace? Inner peace is a spiritual balance that always keeps thoughts and emotions on a level whereby one can manage them instead of being controlled by them. This is an important distinction, because those who have not achieved inner peace let events and negative thinking rule their lives leading to constant stress and unsatisfying results.

Clarity

When you achieve a state of inner peace, the challenges of life are much easier to handle. When confronted with situations that challenge your beliefs, values or goals, you are able to call upon your inner knowingness that is always with you. Asking what is inner peace is the same as asking how can you develop the inner guidance system that keeps you on track through the many decisions you must make in every area of your life.

Achieving inner peace requires resolving past unhappy emotional issues. But that can be easier said than done without help. As humans, we often are unable to step back from those events or emotions in our life that have created memories, both conscious and unconscious, which haunt us through our present days. The only way to get the clarity needed is to access the information that holds you captive.

Emotional well being is a requirement for inner peace. What is inner peace? It is a state of contentment, evenness, and spiritual freedom. By working with Rev. David, you can identify any emotional and spiritual conditions which are blocking inner peace.

People who have inner peace have self-acceptance and an understanding of their life purpose. This guides their decisions in a way that enables them to adhere to their principles and values and accelerate their spiritual growth and emotional prosperity.

Alternative Stress Therapy

Alternative stress therapy helps you find the peace of mind needed to deal with life’s situations in a productive and positive manner. Stress is a function of many things including your lifestyle and the demands others place on you. But what people often don’t realize is that they are creating their own level of stress by failing to deal with the emotional barriers that bar positive reactions, thoughts and behaviours.

Believing in Yourself

A counsellor is not someone you visit who has miraculous answers to all your problems – rather someone who helps you identify the unresolved issues and beliefs that are holding you in a state of stress.

When you are experiencing stress on a frequent basis, it’s quite possible you have learned to doubt yourself in important ways. For example, there are many people who believe they are doomed to be involved in unhealthy relationships because they “don’t deserve better.” There are also people who never seem to advance in their careers because “the other person is a shoe in.”

In other words, your thoughts contain self-doubt, a sense of unworthiness and show a lack of feelings of self-esteem. The string of failures and defeats in relationships and careers are self-fulfilling prophecies. The more often you doubt yourself, the more likely you are to believe you have no control, and the more you let situations control you.

Overcoming Powerlessness

The fact is there is nothing more stressful than feeling as if you have no power over your own life. Some people turn to medications to deal with the sense of powerlessness, but a better choice is to use an alternative stress therapy.

A spiritually based stress therapy focuses on developing emotional well being through a greater personal understanding. You learn to eliminate negative thoughts about yourself grounded in the things people tell you or your own self-perceptions.

Stress Blocks Energy

Stress is a physical reaction to emotional threats. When you experience stress regularly, it is just your body telling you the mind senses danger. Eliminate the danger and the stress is reduced or eliminated.

Alternative stress therapy focuses on eliminating the emotional and thought based issues that are creating unresolved turmoil leading to stress. A spiritual counsellor helps you discover and deal with the true reasons you are unable to control your physical stress responses.

Your emotional health is dependent on your ability to release negative energy that leads to stress. Your self-doubts are eliminated as your self-understanding expands, and this in turn opens the door to further spiritual growth.

Stress Therapy Treatment

Stress therapy treatment uses a spiritual approach to help people make important changes in their lives. This assists you in identifying the root causes that lie beneath the negative thinking leading to negative acts. William Shakespeare wrote that “There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.” In other words, your thinking leads to good and bad behaviours; good and bad perceptions; good and bad decisions; and good and bad relationships. When your life careens out of control it is a sign your interpretation or perception of events has been distorted.

Distorting Your Own Reality

The counseling offices are full of people trying to get a grip on their own reality. Yet hours and hours of professional therapy often leaves people still mystified as to why they behave as they do. The lack of understanding is rooted in the fact that the true source of the problem has to be dealt with through feeling instead of thinking.

When you have past events in your life that have caused trauma or have somehow twisted your thinking in a way that causes a present day distortion, the result is turmoil. Good treatment includes the ability to use a prayerful approach and knowledge of spirit, combined with empathy, to reveal the source of the turmoil you carry within you.

Through stress therapy treatment, you seek to uncover the ideas and attitudes which have piled up and now cause interference. The unattended memories and emotions that have been ignored are revealed so you can finally become more consistent with who you really are, while accelerating your emotional and spiritual growth.

Your Inner Sanctum

When you have thoughts and emotions that have been buried for long periods in your life, a false reality is created. In other words, you are not acting as you would if you had a better understanding of yourself.

Within you lies the answers to many of your life questions. If you have an addictive personality, get depressed or anxious, or cannot seem to find harmony in your life, stress therapy treatment can help in many ways. When the unconscious mind is cleansed of the life entrapping beliefs and negative emotions that prevent spiritual growth, you are set free from the binds that are preventing your progress.
